Scientific Director Safety Assurance
Prof. Dr. Simon Burton is Scientific Director Safety Assurance at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. His personal research areas include the safety of complex, autonomous systems and the safety of machine learning. In addition to his role at Fraunhofer IKS, Simon Burton is an Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of York where he supports various research activities and interdisciplinary collaborations. He has been active in automotive research and development for the past twenty years, most recently in the role of Director of Safe Vehicle Systems at Robert Bosch GmbH.
