Former Director of Organizational Strategy and Administration
Dr. Sabine Sickinger was Director of Organizational Strategy and Administration at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS from 2019 to 2021.
Prior to obtaining a degree in business mathematics at the University of Ulm, Dr. Sickinger went to the US to undertake a parallel studies program in mathematics at Syracuse University (New York State). Upon her return to Europe, she obtained a doctorate at Technical University Munich with a dissertation on »Stochastic dynamic medical device allocation«.
She then took a postdoc position at the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich, where she continued to work in applied mathematics in the area of health care and the environmental analysis. After seven years she decided to further her career in the area of scientific management. This was followed by Financial Resource Management, after which she served as deputy head of the Finance Department at the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich.
She then joined the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in November 2018, precisely Fraunhofer IOSB in Karlsruhe where she focused her activities on organizational development. She also developed the strategic recruiting program at the institute.
Dr. Sickinger is an active member of Verband deutscher Unternehmerinnen (VdU).
