Prof. Dr. Philip Koopman is an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA. He is an internationally recognized expert in autonomous vehicle (AV) safety and is also actively involved in AV guidelines and standards and more generally in embedded systems design and software quality. Phil Koopman is also Deputy Chairman of the advisory board of Fraunhofer IKS.
