Florian Geissler

Senior Scientist

Dr. Florian Geissler is a Senior Research Scientist and AI expert at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. After a training in theoretical physics, his PhD thesis was dedicated to novel quantum materials in topological semiconductor systems. Florian joined Intel Labs Munich in 2017, working on AI Safety and dependability in Automated Driving.

In 2023, he started his position at Fraunhofer IKS. Work focus areas include safe generative AI and large language models (LLM), as well as quantum-enhanced AI. Florian is a Co-founder of the AI startup Datapetal for GenAI-based safety analysis. He is an alumnus of the Max-Weber Programm of the Elitenetzwerk Bayern, and a 5-times recipient of the Intel patent award.
