Johanna Schmidhuber

Research Scientist & Business Developer Trustworthy Digital Health

Johanna Schmidhuber is a Research Scientist at Fraunhofer IKS and develops trustworthy AI applications especially for the healthcare sector. Her focus is on generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to increase efficiency, personalize medicine and improve patient interaction. Johanna has been helping to build up the health division of Fraunhofer IKS since 2023. Through expert talks, AI trainings (e.g., for the EU Commission in 2024) and in various international networks, she is driving forward the faster and broader use of AI potential in healthcare.

Previously, Johanna was a product manager at iteratec GmbH, where she was responsible for the innovation and product transformation of the EAM software LUY (now LUY GmbH). She holds a Master’s degree in Management, Communication & IT with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) as well as experience in IT consulting and security.
