The Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS conducts applied research into the topics of tomorrow: artificial intelligence, cognitive systems and intelligent software architectures for autonomous systems. Our primary focus is safety-critical applications in the areas of Industry 4.0 and automotive, as well as mobile machines and commercial vehicles. We thus develop dependable software technologies for people. What you bring to the table

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field of study, preferably with doctorate/PhD.
  • Communication and collaboration skills
  • A scientific entrepreneurial spirit with the drive to transfer research into real-world solutions
  • Willingness to acquire projects and, at best, industry experience with a strong customer focus
  • Knowledge in software engineering (e.g., architecture design, service-oriented architectures, microservices, embedded / cyber-physical systems)
  • Programming experience (e.g. in C/C++, Java, Python, Linux, etc.)
  • Project management skills and an agile way of working are an advantage
  • Good language skills in German and English

The position is initially limited to 2 years. The weekly working time is 39 hours.
